In one of Switzerlands biggest bouldering gyms you can get to know a varied, challenging and exciting sport. The modern and clean infrastructure offers you everything an athlete’s heart desires – especially interesting movement tasks from very easy to very difficult. Embedded in the Freiruum you will find the Boulderhalle Zug in the heart of the city, very close to the station and surrounded by many parking possibilities.

At the reception you will be welcomed by our staff who will be happy to give you information about bouldering and the bouldering room, available rental equipment and our prices. Our route construction team will create “boulder problems” from easy to difficult, so that everybody has a lot of fun and pleasure with the indoor climbing wall. For the perfect introduction into the world of bouldering we recommend our courses.

Individuals, couples, families and small private groups can visit us without bookings during our opening hours. Organised groups with more than eight people, such as school classes, teams and companies, would profit from our special offers and rates when making a group booking.

We have changing rooms, showers and a picknick zone for our guests. Furthermore, our boulder-offer can be combined with other kinds of sports in the Freiruum.

What is bouldering

Bouldering is climbing without a rope for people of all ages who enjoy movement. Over high jump mats you can make impressive movement experiences: Balance, body awareness, creativity and even a bit of persistence are required – feeling, endurance and strength will come naturally!

Who can boulder

Bouldering is great fun alone, in pairs or in a group. Either way, you can air out your head in the climbing hall during your lunch break, just get your strength back or combine your free time with cool sports in a good ambience.

If you would like to come to the BoulderArea with a group or organise a team event, we have special offers for you. For more information or an individual quote just put in a noncommittal inquiry.

If you are an individual guest over the age of 13, you can come and boulder independently. If you are under 13 years of age you need to be accompanied by a person who is of full age.

Prerequisite for the use of our facility is the same for all users: a signed Declaration of consent and compliance with our user regulations.

Basically you can start with bouldering yourself. However, if you want to use your existing skills perfectly from the start and develop them further, it is worth taking a look at our Course offer.

How do I learn how to boulder

Our instructors will introduce you to bouldering in a way that is suitable and appropriate given your precondition. You will receive tipps for the right kind of warm-up, an introduction into techniques and tactics as well as suggestions regarding injury prevention. If you want to approach bouldering a little more ambitiously we can also offer advice on training ideas and further tipps. That way you will receive all the necessary information about bouldering presented in a succinct and fun manner.

Courses

In our courses, an instructor looks after you in manageable groups. It does not matter if you have never bouldered or already have experience. Either way, we will focus on your individual abilities – without overstraining you.
