It felt like visiting friends who only just moved into their new home: even though some of the boxes might not be fully unpacked yet, it can already be sensed that this will become a place where one feels comfortable and will be planning many more visits in the future.

Prior to the big opening the Freiruum team organised a small open house day. On 28 June 2019 residents, partners and friends were able to visit the Freiruum for the very first time. It was an evening filled with marveling faces, lengthy chats and big plans for the future.

At 5pm the doors to the Freiruum were opened. Apart from an afterwork beer, delicious wine and cold soft drinks the hosts also presented their guests with the best entertainment: the DJ duo “Crowd Control” took care of the right vibes and as a highlight the band “North” gave a funky blues concert. Around 400 residents and friends were present to discover the Freiruum.

Seeing as the Freiruum facilities aren’t even fully established yet, one can currently only imagine what awaits our visitors in the future. For this reason the Freiruum team gave tours of the 7600m2 big hall throughout the event. This allowed the guests to learn first hand what kinds of offerings the Freiruum will entail in the future – and there will be many!

The guests were in agreement: Everyone is looking forward to the in-house coffee roasting and the food stalls, some of which could already be tested: Tenz with his delicious Momos, Lebanese delicacies, pasta and fresh hummus from various suppliers. A further main attraction was represented by the walk-in wine cellar. But also the sports area was met with enthusiasm: the BoulderArea has definitely won quite a few fans already.
